A mere 120 km from Cape Town heading towards the Garden Route and Port Elizabeth, its origins sprung from the hot water springs located on the slopes of the Klein Swartberg mountains.

Towards the end of the seventeenth century, Dutch settlers at the Cape discovered their curative properties and in 1897 work was commenced on a handsome double-storey sanatorium and hotel that became a haven for well-to-do Capetonians of the early 20th century.

Today the Victorian Bathhouse has been restored to its former glory and forms part of the fully equipped international health centre complete with Turkish baths, cascading pools, treatment rooms and saunas for relaxation and rejuvenation.
