Riviersonderend is a small farming community which developed out of a service to the farms in the surrounding area. It has a very peaceful and rural atmosphere with cattle and sheep lazily roaming the green pastures. It has much to offer visitors interested in wildlife, outdoor adventure and architecture. Riviersonderend is called the Historic Heart of the Overberg and is the third oldest settlement in South Africa, thus displaying beautiful architecture, culture and heritage.
