The highest rated chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, mourvedre, pinotage, riesling, Shiraz, red blends, white wooded blend and sauvignon blanc based blend are found in the Overberg. Many wine farms offers free tasting and may have a restaurant on the estate.

Elgin, Botriver, Hermanus, Stanford and the Strandveld wine regions are all within 90 minutes from Cape Town and are home to magnificent, award winning cellars. Ask at any of the toursim offices for a map on the region, featuring the wine farms.
