Caledon , hub of the Overberg, is the perfect stopover for tourists, commercial travelers and tradesmen. The bed & breakfast and self-catering establishments range from simple bedstays to upmarket guesthouses in elegant turn-of–the-century homes with wraparound verandahs, Oregon floors and Burmese teak sash windows.

Many contract workers seek accommodation for three to six months and they are catered for as well. There are fifteen establishments in Caledon itself, supplying a total of 100 beds.

Dotted around the town are various farmstay options. One can choose to spend a weekend “roughing it” without electricity in a simple cottage, enjoying the rustic simplicity of life as experienced by farmers in sparser times. Then there are working farms, where guests can take part in the everyday routine of farm life, staying in cottages.
